Finpedia editorial standards

How Finpedia research is selected, verified and published

Finpedia publishes a record only after its question, scope, evidence and source trail pass automated checks and a named-editor review.

One reader question per article

Every article begins with a single financial or economic question. Companies, people, places and examples that do not directly help answer it are excluded. A topic requiring materially different evidence or serving a different audience becomes a separate record.

Primary-source evidence

Material statistics are matched to the linked government, regulator, central-bank, exchange or company publication. The evidence record stores the value, unit, reporting period, publication date, data cut-off date and whether the figure is an actual, estimate or forecast. A material mismatch blocks publication.

Search trends are secondary signals

Search activity can identify questions worth researching, but it is not evidence of demand, revenue, confidence, market growth or causation. When trends are relevant, they appear in a clearly labelled secondary section and are interpreted only beside verified economic, regulatory or company evidence.

Automated publishing gates

  • Titles must follow the country, theme, year and tension format.
  • Named authors, primary-source links, evidence metadata and FAQs are required.
  • Placeholders, internal review language, unfinished text and truncated ellipses fail.
  • Drafts are noindex, excluded from sitemaps and unavailable through public routes.
  • Reading time is calculated from the visible article word count.

Corrections and updates

Articles are rechecked when a source revises its data or a newer primary release changes a material conclusion. Records that no longer meet the standard are removed from the public data set until their evidence is corrected and reviewed again.
